to answer the university's need from multiple disciplines and field for power of computing, with the sponsorship from the macao science and technology development fund of the macao s.a.r. goverment, the university purchased a high-performance computer cluster and setup an hpc center under the supervision of the state key laboratory of lunar and planetary sciences.
the hpc center is equied with 160 dual-module blade node servers, 2 octa-module fat node servers and 2 gpu node servers to jointly fulfill the computing tasks of the university in areas such as fluid mechanics, monte carlo method, molecular mechanics of molecular dynamics and weather forecasting, the dual-module blade servers implement 12-core processors, intel xeon e5-2680 v3, while the fat nodes and gpu nodes implement corresponding high-end central/graphic processors, which jointly constitute a heterogeneous cpu gpu cluster framework and make available over 4000 computing cores ready for tasks parallelization with a total computing power up to 171.568 tflops.
